Thunderbolts: Atlas

Atlas was supposed to be the first of many Thunderbolts customs, but I stalled on those when I found it extremely difficult to sculpt Citizen V's mask. Also stalled in the works is a Jolt figure. Either, neither, or both could someday be finished. I was nearly finished with a really cool Crimson Cowl, but somehow, I actually lost the figure. (Lost figure found on July 21, 2008!)

Atlas was entirely an X-Men Missile Flyers Bishop figure. I removed his shoulder and knee pads and altered his gloves. I sculpted a "whitey" 'do on his head, and then his gauntlets, a well-detailed belt, a new set of shoulder pads, and his giant "A". All sculpted parts were cured by boiling the figure. I don't really like the way his boots turned out, so there's a good chance that I'll be redoing those in the future.

My paint jobs never really seem that complicated, but essentially, I followed my reference photos using Citadel's golden yellow, elf flesh, regal blue, red gore, and an generic orange paint marker for the hair.
