All New, All Deadly X-Men: Grey King

Grey King was made from the leftovers of my AoA Havok figure. His head came from the X-Men Savage Land Joseph figure, but the rest of him came from an X-Men Battle Brigade Archangel figure.

After attaching the head, I sculpted over the wrist bands on the Archangel figure to make Grey King's gloves. His belt, made from Super Sculpey like the gloves, was the fun part; I pretty much just lucked into the way it looks, though. I then created the tops of his boots using some more Super Sculpey, all of which was cured by boiling the figure for a few minutes. NOTE: I no longer boil figures; try to stick to air-drying epoxies for the sakes of your own custom figures.

Painting was fairly easy, but I spent a fair amount of time to make sure the Phoenix emblem on his chest was just right. I used these Citadel colors and Apple Barrell green: regal blue, red gore, and elf flesh; his hair was colored orange by a paint marker.
